Who Am I?
My name is Hook. A nickname. I know, original, because it's my last name. But I'm just your average guy, I don't come from a town where I grew up rock climbing or much of anything for that matter. I come from a little town of about 6,000 people. Very few things to do. I've always dreamed of adventure. I've always wanted more. When I was young I wanted to be a fighter pilot. I never quite got there, I started having seizures when I was 14, and that held me back from ever joining the military. But not from anything else. I've worked construction, had a hand in building parts of hospitals and colleges, I've worked as an EMT on an ambulance and saved lives. Hell, even as a firefighter saving kittens and babies. I've done a lot of things, and I desire to do more. I recently moved to the Austin area 2 years ago, but now I live right in Austin. I love it. I'm here on earth to learn, to teach, to help, and to inspire. So tie your laces, pull your socks up, throw on some Eye of the Tiger, and let's all conquer together.
What Is This?
"Conquer." is a blog where I share my thoughts and adventures in life. Specifically, my new hobby rock climbing, my current hobby cigar smoking, and enjoying my new city, Austin (or the ATX as they call it). It's going to be random stuff. Also, things like how I try to live my life, my beliefs, my goals. There will be tons of videos and pictures. There will be lots of fun. I'm not here to impress anyone, but if that is a side effect, well, awesome. This definitely isn't for everyone, it's not for someone who's been there, done that. It's not for someone who hates freedom of expression. It's not for people who already know everything. So if you've read this far, and you're not sure, stick around. If you've read this far and like the idea, stick around. If you've read this far and you're lost as to how you got to this page, stick around as well.
